Redesign of AimHarder App

About Aim Harder

Aim Harder is a sports app focused on CrossFit, CrossTraining and Boxing activities.

It has two target audiences: sports facility owners and athletes (users) who are part of those facilities. Since the app is extremely broad, the research and subsequent redesign will focus on the athlete mode, specifically athletes who are members of a CrossFit box.

One of the app’s main functions could be considered the ability to make reservations and see which athletes will attend the classes; however, this information is very hidden and the design does not fully support an intuitive user experience.

My Roll at the project ✨

My Roll at the project ✨

Aim Harder is an application that I use almost daily, so I am very aware of the wide range of possibilities it offers. However, due to its design and the lack of clear information hierarchy, it can be a complex app to use.

For this reason, through extensive research, heuristic evaluations, benchmarking, questionnaires, and user interviews, I was able to analyze the app’s pain points and best practices.

This analysis revealed the need to prioritize the restructuring of the home page, the booking flow and the ability to see which athletes will attend each class. Additionally, the user should have the possibility to view the daily workouts based on the selected training type.

Conclusions

Aim Harder App is a very interesting application that offers a wide range of possibilities. However, after extensive research, users perceive it as complex and outdated. The information architecture is not well structured, and the interface design does not help make it more understandable.

For this reason, and based on real user needs, this project has focused on prioritizing faster booking processes and quick access to the workout of the day, as well as simplifying the app’s core functionalities on the home screen.

These include the booking calendar, making reservations, viewing the workout of the day, logging new performance records, and staying up to date with the plan contracted at the box.

Additionally, the app has been given a more Social Media oriented approach, with the goal of enabling users to create communities aligned with their interests and increasing engagement within the sports ecosystem.
